Jonathan // I had just prepped the main course for my CG’s thanksgiving dinner. Rosemary Lemon Chicken with potatoes & mushrooms. Then packed for my weekend trip to San Francisco with some of my old CG people. With suitcase and Le Creuset in hand, I headed to work, went to small group after and crashed at Joie’s place for the early morning flight the next day.

Joie asked about a certain moment in my life namely what happened before I met her. It was the infamous week with the drama with an ex-girlfriend and another guy at church. When I think about it now – it’s stupid. But at the time it really infuriated me and I couldn’t sleep well for 3 days. The drama caused a lot of distress in my life and I was trying to get over the situation. How could I find the strength to forgive people? That strength to do so was only something from God, I don’t mean that in a hokey way. Forgiveness is hard, to let go is hard. I told the story in detail, she could tell by the tenor of my voice the inherent distress that I had gone through. She had no idea what she had stepped into and when. I was in one of the most traumatic times of my adult life and now 6 months later, I’m in a completely different place. How did I get here in such a short amount of time and in the same year?

Joie // Jonathan came over after his small group dinner and stayed over. It made more sense for me to bring him to the airport in the morning from my place. He brought me mashed potatoes and homemade macarons. Yummy thank you! We talked about the 40 Days project tonight and our plans on executing it. It was so exciting because not only is our journaling finally materializing, but it was also fun to look back and talk about the past 5 months and remember. I mentioned how funny it is that I will be journaling about us talking about le projet. Project-ception!
